Product Description
NOTE: We now carry the new MTB Zeus stem with a 25.4mm clamp diameter. You can find it in the related products section on the right side of this page.
The stem “Zeus“ fascinates with divine power…
– and this is quite essential as forces and tensions of different kinds act on a stem. Particularly torsional moments and clamping forces must be controllable beside easy to use bending moments.
These requirements reflect in a manufacturing method particularly developed for this bike component that utilizes the maximum potential of composite materials.
An uninterrupted fibre pattern that goes right through from above the parting planes of the tools shape from the handlebar clamp to the fork clamp is typical. Thus, the stem shows no weak points and can score with constant rigidity at its lengths. During pedal bob that is what matters most.
Hence, the clamping is responsible for the impressive low weight of the stem that keeps fork and handlebar simply and effectively at bay due to its constructive minimalism.
These weights and an optimal distribution of tension within the compound are only realizable through such one-piece concepts. Therefore, a threading through has to be accepted when assembling the handlebar.
No difference is made between a standard and a premium version with the “Zeus“ as the stem, as a safety-related component only shows safety potential due to fibres and a matrix of premium quality that also sticks to the requirements of minimal weight. Thus, intramodular fibres are used intentionally. In interaction with a special epoxy matrix and in contrary to ultra modular or ultra-high modular pendants, they show a more forgiving behaviour at rupture and do not break abruptly and brittly. Loadings are distributed to larger areas and strain concentrations are reduced.
