C4 Carbon Clincher Rim

For 2011 these rims feature the CTg Brake Track. CTg stands for cryo + glass transition point, Reynolds developed a patented, temperature conducive resin for the brake track, molded it in a protective fabric containment layer, then mated it with a specially formulated proprietary Cryo Blue Brake pad. The result is a lightweight, super efficient system that actually removes heat from the rim. Reynolds claims their rims have been tested to operate cooler than other carbon rims. Cooler operation means virtually no chance for heat induced rim failure. You can expect extremely smooth braking, linear stopping forces and zero pulsing.

Previous to carbon designers and engineers were extremely reliant on striking a balance between a competitively lightweight rim that remained strong enough to withstand the extreme pressures and temperatures a carbon clincher experiences. With CTg Reynolds has taken a large leap in closing the performance gap between tubulars and clinchers.
